Monrovia, Liberia: President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says she is grateful to the Almighty God for strength and good health at 79 years. The Liberia leader turned 79 on Sunday October 29. Ahead of her birthday, President Sirleaf distributed sets of school uniforms and assorted food items to several Liberians kids at six public schools in appreciation to God for what He has done. "I want to thank God for the strength and grace; am still strong and doing my work." she told newsmen.
According to an Executive Mansion Release, President Sirleaf was speaking in an interview with journalists in Julijuah, Bomi County on Friday, October 27, 2017 where they had gone to also wish her happy birthday at the start of activities making her 79th birth anniversary.
The Jahkonah Public School, Monor Public School, Zordee Public School, Deadilah Public School, Sumo Town Public school and Fefeh Town Public school were among schools that benefitted from the donations.
President Sirleaf told journalists that the distribution of uniforms and assorted food items to the kids was her way of celebrating her birthday adding: "There could be no better way to celebrate my birthday than to identify with the kids." she pointed out.
She furthered, as part of activities commentating the celebration, there will be interaction with family members, relatives and friends on Saturday on her farm, which was followed by a Special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at the First United Methodist Church on Ashmum Street in Monrovia in appreciation for God's blessings upon her life and for keeping Liberia saved.
