May 2008 marks the one year anniversary of the Executive Mansion website (
www.emansion.gov.lr), a major source of information from the Presidency both in Liberia and the rest of the world. The launch of the website has made it possible for the Office of the President to keep Liberians at home and abroad abreast of the President’s and Vice President’s daily activities, domestic and international trips, policy objectives, successes and challenges.
The past year, the Executive Mansion website has brought you minute-by-minute postings of Liberia’s 160 year Independence Day Celebrations in Grand Bassa County last July 26th; transcripts of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s speeches; and regular updates on the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) process, which has begun implementation and is available for viewing on the website, among others.
Between May 2007 and December 2007, the Executive Mansion website received a total of 5,792,172 hits, and continues to receive new visitors in the hundreds daily. It has increasingly become the hub for government policy documents, feature stories about the Executive branch, press releases, photos, job announcements, and general information related to Liberia’s post-conflict recovery and reconstruction.
In commemoration of the 1st year anniversary of the website, the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs/Public Affairs and Information Technology Department today launches its Executive Mansion e-newsletter, an electronically transmitted review of the week. E-newsletters will be transmitted every Friday, and sent to government officials, local citizens, donor partners, Diaspora Liberians, and friends of Liberia. Subscribe to the e-newsletter by e-mailing a request to enewsletter@emansion.gov.lr.
