President Boakai Commissions Ambassador Bob Sheriff as Liberia’s Envoy to the Republic of Sierra Leone

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, has officially commissioned Mr. Bob Sheriff as Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The ceremony took place at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

In his remarks, President Boakai emphasized the strategic importance of Liberia’s longstanding bilateral ties with Sierra Leone and urged Ambassador Sheriff to serve with integrity, patriotism, and commitment to strengthening regional cooperation under the Mano River Union framework.

“You are being entrusted with a critical responsibility to represent Liberia’s interests, promote mutual cooperation, and deepen the historical, cultural, and economic bonds that unite our two nations,” the President stated.

He further charged Ambassador Sheriff to prioritize diplomatic engagement, economic diplomacy, and the welfare of Liberians residing in Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Sheriff expressed gratitude to President Boakai for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to uphold Liberia’s foreign policy objectives and foster productive relations between Monrovia and Freetown.

President Boakai is committed to revitalizing Liberia’s diplomatic missions and promote effective foreign engagement across the West African subregion and beyond through the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
