Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has addressed Liberian Muslims as they begin the Holy Month of Ramadan. He commended them for their devotion to prayer and worship of Allah. The President urged Muslims across the nation to remember Liberia in their supplications to God and to pray for the continued peace and unity of the country. 

He also asked them to promote love and commonality of purpose in the nation. 

The President acknowledged that Liberia is built on a strong foundation of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. He noted that the freedom to worship is a fundamental right enshrined in the Constitution, as it was in the organic law from the founding of the Republic. 
President Boakai conveyed his best wishes and goodwill to Muslims in and out of Liberia, praying that the Almighty Allah will grant them strength and courage to faithfully observe this year's Holy Month of Ramadan. He also prayed that God would guide the nation on the right path of peace. He spoke through a video message to the country on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the beginning of the month of Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. The annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
