President Boakai Receives Letters of Credence from Ambassadors-Designate of Norway and Algeria
Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. on Thursday received Letters of Credence from His Excellency Mikal Kvistad, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Norway, and His Excellency Abdelatif Guia, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Algeria, during separate ceremonies held in the Parlors of the Executive Mansion.
The formal presentation of credentials marks the official commencement of the ambassadors’ diplomatic missions to the Republic of Liberia and highlights the enduring partnerships between Liberia and both nations. The ceremonies reflected the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including development, governance, trade, climate resilience, and sustainable economic growth.
In presenting his credentials, Ambassador Kvistad extended Norway’s strong commitment to its partnership with Liberia, particularly in advancing climate and forest conservation initiatives. He emphasized Norway’s continued support for sustainable forest management and efforts to promote green growth through the development of a deforestation-free agricultural sector, aimed at boosting livelihoods while protecting Liberia’s rich natural resources.
Ambassador Abdelatif Guia, in his remarks, conveyed Algeria’s keen interest in expanding economic collaboration with Liberia. He highlighted opportunities to enhance trade relations, increase investment flows, and promote tourism, noting the complementary strengths of both countries and the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.
President Boakai congratulated the ambassadors on their appointments and assured them of the Government of Liberia’s full support in the discharge of their duties. He expressed confidence that their respective tenures will further deepen bilateral ties and broaden cooperation in trade, investment, education, security, and sustainable development.
The President also extended his best wishes for their successful service and expressed Liberia’s confidence to fostering strong diplomatic relations that advance peace, prosperity, and shared progress among nations.
