Officially launching and commissioning the First Atlantic Bank Liberia, on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Bank’s Headquarters, President Boakai said the bank's entry into the Liberian market as a powerful vote of confidence in the country's improving investment climate and an important milestone for regional economic cooperation. "If you don't have confidence in your own economies, who do you expect to have that confidence?" 

He said the successful establishment of the bank proved that serious African investors are prepared to back Liberia's economic recovery, and lauded the Ghanaian investors behind the bank for demonstrating action rather than empty promises, and pledged his administration's commitment to creating a secure and investor-friendly environment to attract credible investments into Liberia. 

President Boakai further assured the new bank that his government would continue to guarantee security and implement reforms aimed at making Liberia an attractive destination for investment. "Africans can trust one another to come and do business, and we want to assure you that our government will work with you to make sure that you succeed," he emphasized.

In furtherance, the Liberian Leader noted that the growing number of investors entering the country reflects increasing confidence in the government's economic agenda and pointed to encouraging assessments from the Central Bank of Liberia and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning as evidence that the country is making meaningful progress. "Liberia is now moving in a very serious way. We are opening up the country and putting in place the conditions that make this environment conducive and attractive for investment," he said.

Highlighting the longstanding relationship between Liberia and Ghana, President Boakai said the two nations remain committed to working together to advance Africa's development agenda, and confidence that stronger partnerships among African countries would help drive the continent's future growth and prosperity.
