President Boakai Consoles the Family of the late Former Liberian Vice President John D. Gray.

Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has extended his deepest condolences to the Widow of Mr. John D. Gray, Mrs. Laysiah Gray, Daughter, Mrs. Johnetts Zoe Gray, and the Gray Family on the sad news of the passing of the prominent Son of Grand Cape Mount County.

The former Vice President is reported to have passed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, following a period of illness in Monrovia. The late Honorable Gray was a Deacon at the Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville.

Honorable Gray rose to the position of Vice President of the Republic upon the ascension of then Vice President Moses Zeh Blah to the Presidency following the resignation of President Charles M. Taylor in August of 2003. The Blah-Gray Administration lasted two months.

In his condolence message to the Gray Family and the people of Cape Mount County, the Liberian Leader acknowledged services rendered by the late Honorable Gray in the cause of his County, which he served as Senator, and the nation, as Vice President.
