President Boakai Expresses Condolences to Families of Two Fallen Government Officials, Assistant Minister Brown B. Sarlee and Superintendent Julia K. Bono
Executive Mansion, Monrovia - In a show of compassion and solidarity, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, over the weekend, visited the bereaved families of two distinguished public servants who recently passed away, Assistant Minister for Administration at the Internal Affairs Ministry, Mr. Brown B. Sarlee, and Grand Bassa County Superintendent Julia K. Bono.
In separate messages of consolation at their separate residences, the President offered his deepest sympathies and shared words of comfort with the family members during his visits on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
The President first visited the family of the late Mr. Sarlee in Barnesville, Montserrado County, where he expressed his heartfelt condolences to the widow, Mrs. Nora Saah-Sarlee, and other family members.
“It is truly saddening to lose such a dedicated public servant when our nation needs his contributions the most,” the President said.
He prayed for God’s comfort and guidance for the family during this challenging time and pledged his support.
Mrs. Nora Saah-Sarlee, on behalf of the Sarlee family, thanked President Boakai for his visit and expressed appreciation for his words of support, which, she noted, have brought much comfort to the family.
She wished the President strength and wisdom as he navigates the country’s future challenges.
President Boakai then proceeded to Buchanan in Grand Bassa County to, in similar vein, console the family of Superintendent Julia K. Bono, who passed after a period of illness.
Upon his arrival, President Boakai was warmly received by prominent citizens of Grand Bassa County, who gathered to honor Superintendent Bono’s legacy of service.
Reflecting on her life, President Boakai remarked, “The sacrifices made by dedicated leaders like Superintendent Bono are an inspiration to us all. We will remember her service and keep her in our prayers.”
The President concluded his visits with prayers that God grants eternal peace to both Assistant Minister Sarlee and Superintendent Bono and grants strength to their families and communities.
He assured that the nation mourns alongside the Sarlee and Bono families and extended the nation’s collective gratitude for the dedication and service of these esteemed
leaders.
The President was accompanied to the homes of the two deceased officials by Internal Affairs Minister Francis Sakilah Nyumalin and other officials of government.
