President Boakai seized the moment to brief the Liberian community about developments back home in Liberia. He praised the community members for their meaningful contributions in the form of remittances to fellow Liberians back home, something he said is significant in the economic development of the nation.

Speaking on a wide range of issues impacting Liberians abroad, President Boakai said he has made it a tradition to meet with Liberian community members in countries that he is visiting.

According to President Boakai he has to date received no report of misconduct from the authorities of the Kenyan Government regarding Liberians in Kenya, for which he lauded the community members. He went further to encourage them to always be on the side of the law in all circumstances.

Speaking further, President Boakai said that the Government of Liberia is studying the possibility of establishing a diplomatic mission in that East African country.

The Minister of State without Portfolio Mamakai Bility, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Cornelia Krauh; the Managing Director of the Liberian Electricity Corporation (LEC), and Liberia's Consul General in Kenya, Madam Kenyatta Pratt, among others.

Earlier, the Leadership of the Liberian Community in Kenya, led by  Chairman Marcus Julay Weah, outlined a number of challenges, including delays in transmitting West African Examinations Council documents, something, according to them, is undermining valuable time in their studies.

They appealed to the President to look into the issues of delay in transmitting documents from relevant authorities to their schools in Kenya.
