At the 105th Commencement Convocation of the Graduate and Professional Schools at the University of Liberia’s Fendall Campus, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening higher education in Liberia. Serving as Visitor of the University, the President announced a personal contribution of US$50,000 toward the establishment of a modern research laboratory—funded through savings from his voluntary salary reduction.
In addition, President Boakai revealed that more than US$6 million has been allocated in the FY2026 National Budget to improve infrastructure and learning conditions at the University. He emphasized that academic excellence requires modern facilities, strong governance, and accountability across academic, administrative, and financial systems.
Addressing graduates, the President praised their resilience and urged them to embrace ethical leadership and national service. He also called on alumni to reengage and support their alma mater, underscoring the University’s vital role in shaping Liberia’s democratic values, innovation, and national development.
