President Boakai Meets Liberian Community In Italy, Promise To Appoint Ambassador To Rome

Italy, Rome - His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has reiterated that his Government will reposition Liberia in a bid to achieving the wishes and aspirations of the Liberian people.

He said this process will require a trained manpower base that will be used to develop the country.

President Boakai was speaking in Rome Tuesday to the Liberian community in that European country.

The audience most of them students informed the President that they were acquiring education that will be critical in the forward march to national development.

The President pointed out that one of the roles of the government is to keep an eye on Liberians wherever they are.

According to the President he is thrilled by the degree of sacrifices many Liberians make in pursuit of education around the world.
He said under his watch as President, his Government will endeavor to create the conditions and environment required and necessary to encourage Liberians to return home to contribute their quotas in the great task of nation building.

According to the President of the Liberian community in Italy Madam Fatu Tunkarah, there are approximately five thousand Liberians in Italy.

The Liberian community especially students informed the President that they are willing to come back home after their studies and that they look forward for the creation of such an environment

Noting further
President Boakai said that other countries will approve visas when they know that upon graduation you will return home, and that we must make our country attractive to other nationals as well.
The President entreated the community to work with the Liberian Embassy near Rome to regularize their statuses.

Meanwhile President Boakai has informed the community that he will soon appoint an Ambassador near Rome because Rome is also hosting the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
